* I Love Mondays *

Tilly, age 11

I'm back. Oh, you didn't notice I was missing? I went two whole days without blogging…and why? This whole third trimester thing is dragging me down. I've been too tired to take a photo, resize it for the web, sit upright at my computer, then formulate a cohesive thought. My brain seems to have taken a leave of absence.

For example:

Wednesday, for some reason I have yet to discover, I suddenly forgot what time my girls' Japanese lesson was and I dropped them off half an hour early. They called me on my cell phone to let me know, but I had forgotten it at home. When I went to pick them up, I realized I forgot to bring the check to pay their teacher. And in hashing this all over on the way home, I forgot to stop by my parents to pick some things up like I said I would. Keep in mind friends, all this forgetting happened in over a two hour period.

But all is not lost. The weather has been sunny and {almost} warm. I spent two days cleaning and organizing my laundry room (and this is the room where we keep our school books). I even managed to get every dirty laundry basket in the house empty. Yes I, the mother of 13, got caught up on laundry! Never mind, that if I skip for one day I'm back in the hole. The reality is, I'm caught up now

In between I've been lying on the couch, planning birthday parties (did I mention Hezekiah's birthday kicks off ten months straight of birthdays in our house???), teaching school, driving around and keeping the peace. Not to mention a little laundry, cooking and cleaning on the side.

On the bright side, my midwife has insisted that I lay down and rest for a week after my baby is born. She specifically said: no cooking, no laundry, no dishes. For a whole week. I can hardly wait!

I hope you all have a happy, productive Monday!

Day Two in Which I Try to Keep My Sanity

Yesterday I had a prenatal visit with my midwife. Chuck was going to come along and finally meet her. We made arrangements to drop our children off at my mom's then drive over to the office.

So we did.

About five minutes from the office my cell phone rang, and the receptionist informed me our midwife was off delivering a baby, so we needed to reschedule. We agreed to meet at 3:30 instead of 10 AM, since the midwife was pretty sure she'd be back by then.

Chuck and I were a good 15 minutes from my mom's by now…so we drove around a bit while he looked at a few job sites- some he had worked on and some had bid on.

Then we headed over to our local school supply store. Keziah needed a new math book and he wanted to take a look around.

We shopped a bit, stopped for  a cup of coffee and picked up our children.

We were home and fed the children about 1.

Our new appointment was at 3:30.

Judah had to be in  town at 5:15 to work on his Physical Fitness Merit Badge.

Enoch needed to be at the library at 6:30 for Webelos.

Keziah needed to be at Nelson's Driving School at 6:45 for Driver's Ed.

Judah and Boaz needed to be at the church for Boy Scouts at 7.

And I needed a bit cup of coffee and spread sheet to keep it straight.

The older kids started in on their math.

I played some "fun math games" with my little ones.

Chuck worked on a brochure for his business.

Next I made a series of phone calls as I tried to figure out how we would pick Judah up at 6:15, eat dinner and have everyone where they needed to be.

At 2:30 the phone rang. My midwife was calling to let me know she was off delivering her second baby of the day, and we'd need to reschedule our appointment.

At this point it really felt like we had run around like crazy all day and accomplished nothing…

On the bright side, everyone got to where they needed to be.

I made it through the evening with no coffee.

Or chocolate.

And today is going to be a better day.
