…of his favorite diapers:

I use cloth diapers already. I have never tried Snap-Ez, actually I've never heard of them. However, I love the one size diapers I currently have. Due to some sewing errors on my part they are no longer up to staying on an active toddler.

BTW, my daughter is 7 weeks old, just a little younger than Apollo. Her tongue was tied too, but we got it snipped. That day her nursing improved 100%. I watched her tongue get clipped, I was amazed that she didn't even cry.

Corrie, just email Ruth (ruth@snap-ez.com) and let her know you won the giveaway. You'll love the one-size…they fit Apollo perfectly!

Thank you to everyone who shared about their upcoming homeschool plans. I'm off to check out a few of those links!

Snap-Ez Giveaway!

Apollo XIV, 2 months

Ruth, from Snap-EZ diapers, has generously offered a $20 give certificate for Snap-Ez diapers to one of my readers. All you need to do is go to her website, click around, and leave a comment here telling me something you learned, or a product you love. The winner will be selected randomly. Ruth is the stay-at-home mom to eleven children! I have used Snap-EZ diapers on Hezekiah, Avi and Tucker. Apollo now wears them during the day, though Chuck and I have always chosen to use disposables for nighttime and trips out of the house.

Apollo is two month old today. Two months.

He is finally sleeping during the day, and Dr. Karp is my new hero. We saw results from the very first day we tried his methods. He still isn't a great napper- at this point he is awake for an hour and then naps for 45 minutes to an hour. Far from ideal, but when we first watched the video he was staying awake for 3, four, five, six or more hours and then napping for 5-20 minutes. Now that he is actually sleeping during the day, I am working on helping him learn to sleep longer. He's always done fairly well at night (what's not to like about being snuggled next to mom, with warm milk on tap?)

He has rolled from his back to tummy at least twice (witnessed by several people). Nursing is finally, finally pain free (we had tons of trouble due to his being tongue-tied). Apollo loves to talk and coo. He is right on the verge of laughing…He is weighing in at 11  pounds 15 ounces- so he's gained 3 pounds three ounces since birth.

On the schedule for later today: a two month photo shoot. Lets hope he cooperates for me!

Little Earthling Photography and Mothering Magazine

I am so excited to share this ad with you! It's been many, many months in the works…I took the photos for this Snap-Ez ad in Mothering Magazine. I think the  newborn you see in the ad is ten months old now, so you can see how long I've been waiting to share this.

This is in the current May-June issue of the magazine. Carolynn, Merriann and Heather, you may want to rush out and buy this issue since its your baby's modeling debut!

I ended up working closely with the owner of Snap-Ez and in the end, doing the design work on Photoshop for the ad itself. I was scared to death, because I've never done anything like this before and the technical requirements for the magazine were about three pages long. Most of it in language I didn't even understand!

And while I'm on the topic, let me say I am a big fan of Snap-Ez diapers…when they first came out on the market (I think Mordecai and Jubilee were babies) I had a stash of cloth diapers I was perfectly happy with…until I saw a Snap-Ez diaper in person. They have snaps (instead of velcro) which don't wear out or all get stuck together in the washer…and the inside is super soft fleece (instead of flannel) which wicks the moisture away from the baby's bottom. I now have huge stash of Snap-Ez diapers in all kinds of fun colors and patterns.

For the record- I'm not getting paid or compensated for blogging about Snap-Ez diapers…I simply love the diapers. I did negotiate an agreement to be paid in the new One Size Pocket Diapers instead of cash. An agreement I am thrilled with. I honestly didn't believe the claims of "one size fits all" when it came to diapers. My babies are on the smaller side…and have skinny little legs. But the diapers you see in the ad are actually one size adjustable diapers and the babies you see range in age from newborn (I think about 10 days old) to age 2!

Oldies But Goodies

Check out these photos I found on my hard drive yesterday. These bring back such fun memories. I clearly knew nothing about photography, but I love these nonetheless. These were taken on my first digital camera, a little Kodak EasyShare.

Enjoy!

Avi, 11 months old

Oh my. Just look at that face! Avi didn't get her first tooth until her first birthday. But look, even back then she had those sparkly eyes and beautiful smile…

Tucker, at 8 or 9 months

Look at those baby curls. Curls I was sure would be gone with his first haircut (but they're not). Those dark, dark eyes. And a mouth full of teeth- months before Avi.

Mordecai and Jubilee (3)

Oh my. Look at that smile. The love between these two. The matching babies in Snap-Ez diapers. I love everything about this photo…In fact, it makes me think I need to print a bunch of these in 5×7's and start a new "vintage" photo wall in my house. With photos just like these. Snapshots that capture our life, our love, our family.

I often find that these photos mean more to me after a few years…when the children are older and so much has changed….what type of photos do you love from your family albums?
