And since I don’t have a food photo, you’ll have to settle for pics of Bellingham’s Premier Baby, eating strawberries.
So, last summer my sister-in-law Tara visited made Asian salad for us. It was one of those meals that was so delicious it had me thinking about it fondly, long after… I believe Tara got the recipe from Pioneer Woman’s site (she’s a huge fan of PW). Shortly after than she asked why I “wasn’t like Pioneer Woman”. As in, why isn’t my blog a huge national hit bringing in tons of money so I can tour the country and give away Kitchen Aid mixers and new cameras…umm, I guess I just haven’t been discovered yet…but that’s beside the point.
Anyway, I came up with my own delicious version that we often have for lunch, and here I am sharing it with you, my faithful readers.
Okay…for my crew I:
Boil two packages of spaghetti noodles. When they are cooked I run cold water on the noodles to cool them.
Next I dump in tons of raw, chopped veggies…usually: bell peppers (of any color), carrots and broccoli.
Then I add about a 1/4 cup of toasted sesame seeds.
Then my secret sauce…which I’m about to share with you, my dear friends…
3/4 cups of sesame oil
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 balsamic vinegar
3 Tablespoons soy sauce.
Toss, serve, enjoy.
