Kiwi Fun {Ben and Aaron Visit}

Our Kiwi friends have arrived and it has been so much fun getting to know them. You long time readers will remember that Adalia spent summer 2011 in Honduras with Teen Missions International. One of her team members, Ben, was from New Zealand. Ben and his brother, Aaron, have been traveling all over the US visiting friends.

Chuck already had yesterday off work (in anticipation of Apollo’s hospital stay) so he, Aaron, Ben, Adalia, Judah, Tilly and Enoch went hiking. They swam in these freezing cold waterfall-fed pools. Then they headed over to the much warmer lake.

Okay, after spending a few days with these guys, I can honestly say they are some of the nicest people I know. They are thoughtful, friendly and genuine. I’ve been friends with both on Facebook for the last year, but you just never know how that is going to translate in real life. In this case, it’s been great.

{And just as a public service announcement, Aaron is 24 and single. Someone snatch him up, quick! Really, he’s a great guy and who doesn’t love a cute Kiwi accent?}

I’m hoping to get out my camera a bit more today since Aaron heads for home tomorrow. Ben will be with us for anther week and a half, so expect lots of photos of him.

Teen Missions International: Then and Now

Some of you may remember that Chuck and I met on a Teen Missions team. It was the second trip for both of us. He was one of the team leaders- I was a team member. Do you sense a bit of a scandal there? Don't worry, we waited until we were home to begin our romance.

At any rate, Chuck finally showed me how to use our scanner, so watch out world, who knows how many retro Baker's Dozen photos are going to show up on the web now!

Adalia is currently in Merritt Island, Florida for her two weeks of Boot Camp. Training for her summer in Honduras. With the wonders of modern technology, TMI is updating their facebook page with photos. Every day we search each and every photo for pictures of Adalia and her team. Our team: Brazil Fishponds 1994 (That's me in the dirty while T-shirt in the front row). This team photo was taken after we ran the obstacle course- hence the dirt. Chuck isn't in the photo, since this was just of the team members, not leaders.

And no, he's not proposing to me in this photo…he's taking my blood to check for malaria (in the end, we both had it).

Is it just me or does it look like we're both enjoying that just a little too much…
