Summer, Sunshine and Shaving

Well,  hello there. Over here at A Baker’s Dozen, we’re making it a point to enjoy every day of sunshine that we’re blessed with.

Never mind that our day of sunshine today didn’t have much sun in it. And never mind the fact that it was windy, chilly and started raining while we were at the park.

We still enjoyed every moment of our day…

Is it just me, or does God make the medically needy ones extra cute?

This is how the big kids entertained themselves. Left to right we have: Adalia, Tilly, Enoch, Devon and Kalina.

Guess what Tucker said to me this morning?

“Mama, you really need to shave your armpit hair!”

“Why?” I asked. “Daddy doesn’t shave his.”

“Yeah,” he answered. “That’s because it’s not against the law for him to have hair there”.

Thanks a lot, buddy.

How about you? How is your summer going?

  1. Tucker is so cute! My 6 yo asked me tonight if God created Himself! Don’t you love it when they’re old enough to think for themselves? Even if it’s not always flattering to Mama!

  2. It’s winter here! ;-)

    Jubilee is looking gorgeous.

I wouldn’t say my medically needy one was extra cute but she has a certain something that makes everyone love her. And she STILL asks to come back and play at your house!!

  3. Against the law! That is hilarious! Kids are so innocently honest! Yesterday my daughter and I were trying on competition speedo compression suits in the same room and she said, “mama, I dont want to hurt your feelings but that suit makes you look really fat (I wear a womens size 4…)and you should choose a different one. Why dont you try on the TYR, they are more forgiving.” Thanks babe. yes, the medically fragile ones are often just plain adorable, I have noticed. Apollo is particularly good looking! Looks like your kids had fun! We are having a similar summer to yours, it is chilly, wet, gray and very rainy most of the time. The Alaskan’s say it is usually a bit sunnier here.

  4. I know that this will be a very shallow comment: However, Your kids are just so cute! Honestly, your pictures made my yukky day a little brighter! Thank you !

  5. Thank goodness it isn’t against the law to not shave your pits in a timely manner!!! We wood both be in lock-up! I love seeing the photos of your older kids. My son, Fletcher would have loved to be jumping the bridge with you big kids.

  6. Love these pictures! It’s too hot here (West Tennessee) to even spend a few minutes in our backyard, let alone a park in direct sunlight :( I’ve been spending my summer learning the ropes of handling my two year old AND my two month old! Fun times!

  7. I’ll trade you some of our upper 80′s/90′s with high humidity for your coolish, damp weather. At least for a few days. I think my garden would die if it got cold and stayed cold for a long period of time.
