Please be patient with me. Along with being the mom to fourteen and wife to one, I run a photography business. I am in the midst of updating my business blog (which has been sorely neglected in the wake of Apollo’s health issues).
Thank you for all of your prayers for Apollo and words of encouragement.
My sister-in-law and brother are back in Seattle as Laura gets cancer treatment. We would appreciate any prayers on her behalf. Their three children (21, 14, 13) are still at home in Alaska.
Earlier this week I was doing a photo shoot for three little boys (photos soon) here at my house. Apollo saw me with the camera and ran to this tree saying, “Like this, Mama?” Then he’d run off to the next tree repeating, “Like this, Mama?” Apparently he’s now got the whole posing thing down!

You are taking care of the most important things, and while we love to hear from you daily, we can most certainly wait while you Mama your crowd (I have 10 children of my own, so I know a bit about being busy). First things first, and to everything there is a season.
We will pray for the Lord Himself to touch your sister-in-law, that she would be restored to continue her work and wife and mother, and that she would see the hand of God.
Why would anyone be impatient with you? You have ridiculous stresses and challenges just in every day life so throw in all Apollo’s health issues and most people could not stand up under it. Your family needs you most.
Well, I didn’t really mean my readers would be impatient. It was more a reminder to myself…and to people in my life in general. I am FAILING in the meal planning and dinner departments. Some days it literally barely makes it on the table and is of questionable quality and edibility.
Hmm well I have only 2 kids, and neither are going through any medical stuff and I completely fail in the meal planning and dinner department. Not only that, I forget things at the store like milk. So then quick breakfast of cereal is out. Then sometimes I do not make bread in time, or it does not rise and we have no lunch for my husband, he has no microwave at work so leftovers are out, so he has to go to subway. You know how that adds up! Especially here in Alaska, does everything have to cost more? And, I truly love to cook. I get so caught up with farming, homeschooling and daily or twice daily swimming lessons, I just fail for that alone. You have more going on in a day than I likely have in a wk.
Not only does he have the posing down, but he’s a pretty cute poser at that!
Some seasons of life are just more put together than others…chalk it up to a pretty intense season for you! Be patient with yourself and may the Lord grant you some rest this week!
