I am so excited to share this ad with you! It's been many, many months in the works…I took the photos for this Snap-Ez ad in Mothering Magazine. I think the newborn you see in the ad is ten months old now, so you can see how long I've been waiting to share this.
This is in the current May-June issue of the magazine. Carolynn, Merriann and Heather, you may want to rush out and buy this issue since its your baby's modeling debut!
I ended up working closely with the owner of Snap-Ez and in the end, doing the design work on Photoshop for the ad itself. I was scared to death, because I've never done anything like this before and the technical requirements for the magazine were about three pages long. Most of it in language I didn't even understand!
And while I'm on the topic, let me say I am a big fan of Snap-Ez diapers…when they first came out on the market (I think Mordecai and Jubilee were babies) I had a stash of cloth diapers I was perfectly happy with…until I saw a Snap-Ez diaper in person. They have snaps (instead of velcro) which don't wear out or all get stuck together in the washer…and the inside is super soft fleece (instead of flannel) which wicks the moisture away from the baby's bottom. I now have huge stash of Snap-Ez diapers in all kinds of fun colors and patterns.
For the record- I'm not getting paid or compensated for blogging about Snap-Ez diapers…I simply love the diapers. I did negotiate an agreement to be paid in the new One Size Pocket Diapers instead of cash. An agreement I am thrilled with. I honestly didn't believe the claims of "one size fits all" when it came to diapers. My babies are on the smaller side…and have skinny little legs. But the diapers you see in the ad are actually one size adjustable diapers and the babies you see range in age from newborn (I think about 10 days old) to age 2!
Where did you find the maazine? I have been looking but have had no luck. Grace is 9 months old and on the move now and she still has tons of room to grow in the one size!
I love the one size diapers! The boys started small in them and are now toddlers in them. To bad their cute shot didn’t make it to print. They will have to just be famous internet models.
We did a mock-up with your boys too…it was very close between twins and Esther….
I picked my copy up at the Food Co-op downtown. If youre facing the store entrance, its on the far right, almost at the customer service desk.
Congratulations! The ad is great!
Hi Renee, I was just reading through your blog and I noticed that some of your readers suggested an “anniversary post”, in honor of you and Chuck’s anniversary, and I just wanted to say that I thought that was such a great idea!!! I’d love to read about how the two of you fell in love, especially after all the birth stories. It’d be nice to see where your whole journey began
You could even include some wedding pictures! Okay, I’m getting too excited
Anyway, do you plan on doing an “anniversary post”?
You must be so proud of this accomplishment. You are a woman of many talents. It is good to know the world is getting to see that first hand! I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for you in the future!!
Blessings to you as you bring your next bundle of joy into the world!!
I love that you caught Liberty’s first crawl and there it is in print, I will send Sean to get the magazine tommorow!
Hey Renee, why do you prefer cloth diapers? Did you use them with all of your kids?
By the way – GREAT job with the ad! How exciting for you! I think I’m speaking for all of your blog readers in saying “We’re proud of ya girl”
Its definitely a money saver, and I like to avoid the chemicals on my babys bottom 24 hours a day. We have used them on and off (never exclusively) on all our babies. We have always used disposable and night so I could avoid dealing w/ a poopy cloth diaper at 3 AM!
Renee – it was great working with you…it was so fun to work out the details of the ad itself. I wish we could have used the twins in the ad, but it just didn’t work out, Ruth…I somehow missed this post, but I’m glad I found it today!
I can’t wait to see photos of Apollo in the diapers!
